Fresh empanadas are coming to North Miami when The Empanada’s opens at 14316 Biscayne Boulevard.

The Empanada’s posted the new location on its website. Currently, there’s no exact opening date, only the mention that it’s “coming soon”.

Miami is rife with empanadas — almost every coffee shop and grocery offers them. But The Empanada’s was founded in Key Biscayne by Maximiliano Fava and partners as a way of offering handmade empanadas to Miamians instead of mass-produced varieties.

Today, there are eight shops throughout South Florida including the flagship Key Biscayne, Downtown Miami, Aventura, South Miami, Weston, Doral, Fort Lauderdale, and South Beach. North Miami will be the ninth location, and The Empanadas is not stopping there. The website notes that franchise opportunities and a food truck are on the way.

The Empanada’s quickly gained in popularity for its handmade empanadas in 25 different varieties, so there’s something for everybody.  Customers can enjoy traditional empanadas filled with beef, spinach, and chicken or opt to try more exotic offerings like the “Malbec Beef”, filled with beef, onion, scallions, and  champignon in a Malbec wine reduction sauce; or the “Four Cheeses”, filled with mozzarella, Parmigiana, gouda, and provolone.

There are also vegan options, and dessert empanadas such as the Oreo and apple pie.
