It seems Orlando is having a steakhouse moment.
Internationaldrive.com announced that Baires Grill would be opening at the Hollywood Plaza Garage, replacing the former Mooyah at 8126 International Drive in Orlando. The restaurant, itself, confirmed the news on Instagram, showing a sneak peek of the interior renovations, along with an image of Mickey Mouse holding a hammer. CP Construction, the Miami-based company tapped to work on the project, also shared how progress is moving along on the site.
Currently, there are eight Baires Grills throughout the Miami area and New York. Corazon by Baires, a sister restaurant that serves Latin American fare, is open in Orlando.
Partners Martin Koenig, Gustavo Abudiab, and Natalia Denegri opened the first Baires Grill in Miami in 1999 with the goal of bringing Argentinian dining to the Magic City.
The menu offers an array of premium steaks, along with traditional items like empanadas, grilled provolone cheese, and gambas al ajillo (shrimp in white wine). The restaurant also features an array of cheeses and meats for cheese boards and charcuterie. The star of the show is beef in a variety of cuts. The most popular dish is the parrillada for two, which includes skirt steak, flap steak, short ribs, chicken, sweetbreads, sausage, blood sausage, and a sides. There are also seafood options, chicken, and salad options for those who want lighter fare.
A curated selection of Argentinian wines and cocktails round out the menu, and a weekday happy hour offers half-priced drinks at the bar.
