A local fast-casual café is planting new roots in Boston’s bustling Seaport District.

Life Alive Organic Café will open its latest location at 200 Seaport Blvd in the summer of 2026, bringing its signature chef-crafted grain bowls, salads, wraps, pita sandwiches, smoothies, açaí bowls, and espresso drinks to Commonwealth Pier.

Founded in Lowell in 2004, Life Alive has grown to 13 locations across Massachusetts, including sites in Burlington and Jamaica Plain. Out-of-state cafés can be found in Washington, D.C. and Arlington, Virginia. The company says its menu fuels the life you crave through nutrient-dense recipes and organic, minimally processed ingredients to power energy, optimism, and total well-being.

According to a press release, the new café will span 3,826 square feet, offering 84 interior seats and 12 patio seats overlooking the harbor. Life Alive’s signature colorful design will infuse the space with warmth and energy, showcasing soaring ceilings, exposed brick, and a large-scale mural that embodies the brand’s “commitment to creativity, community, and well-being.”

“The Seaport has been our most-requested location from guests for years, so we’re excited to finally bring this incredible waterfront community a space to eat well, connect, and recharge—whether they’re locals, office workers, or just passing through,” said Bryan Timko, CEO of Life Alive Organic Café. “This neighborhood gets it—they work hard, play hard, and want food that actually fuels that lifestyle. Our vibrant, flavor-packed menu is made for people who refuse to choose between food that tastes amazing and food that makes them feel amazing.”

The revitalized Commonwealth Pier has transformed into a year-round destination connecting the waterfront to the Seaport community. Alongside Life Alive, the pier is slated to welcome Portland-based ice cream shop Salt & Straw in the coming months.

“Commonwealth Pier is the gateway to Boston Harbor and the vibrant Seaport neighborhood,” said Kristan McLaughlin, Director, Customer Experience and Asset Operations, Pembroke. “Our focus has been on creating a year-round public waterfront destination that supports connection, community, and culture. We’re delighted to welcome Life Alive to our exciting new destination filled with arts, culture and dining and know that people who live and work here and visitors to the Seaport will be thrilled to add this healthy and flavorful dining offering to their routines.”
