Rappers and entrepreneurs Clifford “T.I.” Harris and Mike “Killer Mike” Render are collaborating with Noel Khalil of Columbia Ventures to re-open the Bankhead Seafood Restaurant.

The restaurant was a staple along Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway in Grove Park for 50 years until it closed abruptly in 2018 under the direction of longtime owner Helen Harden.

The 4,200-square-foot, two-story restaurant redux will have an expanded menu and rooftop dining, and is expected to open early-2021.

Between now and then, a Bankhead Seafood Restaurant food truck is in the works and, post inspections this month, will sell the core menu offerings including fish, shrimp, hush puppies, fries, slaw, and pie.

Or, in Harden’s words, as is written on the side of the food truck: “We’ll be here until the food runs out.”
