Judy’s Island Grill has signed a lease for a new location in Powder Springs. This will be the first location for the Jamaican restaurant in Georgia and the fourth overall, with two in Maryland and one in Toronto, Canada.

The 1,250-square-foot space, at 3861 Siniard St., was originally built as a Bruster’s Ice Cream before Theze Bonez, a barbecue restaurant, moved in. The space has been empty since Theze Bonez closed at the end of 2018.

The Scott family, originally from Clarendon, Jamaica, first opened Judy’s Island Grill in Park Heights, Baltimore in 2004. The restaurants are co-owned by chef Pauline “Judy” Scott and Freka Scott.
