A new Mexican restaurant and bar called Lobos Cocina and Bar is set to open in downtown Longmont, according to a food plan review filed with the city of Boulder.

Lobos, which translates to wolf in Spanish, is set to open in a standalone restaurant space on 1950 Main St., in a space that currently houses Birriería Doña María Longmont, which is still in operation at the time of publication.

Lobos is co-owned by Marcel Marin and Brenda Barron, who met while working at Blue Agave Fine Mexican Dining. The duo decided to open their own restaurant after Blue Agave closed in December 2024, leveraging their years of experience in authentic Mexican cuisine. “Lobos Cocina & Bar represents their passion for traditional Mexican flavors, elevated presentation, and a vibrant atmosphere inspired by their fine dining background,” the pair told What Now Denver in an email.

Lobos Cocina and Bar is aiming for a mid-March opening.
