Parker’s Kitchen is bringing Southern fare and hospitality to West Jacksonville when it opens at 7481 Wilson Boulevard. According to the Jacksonville Daily Record, the combination service station and restaurant will open a 4,985 square foot store. The project is in the permitting phase, and an opening date has not yet been announced.

Parker’s Kitchen was founded in 1976 by Greg Parker, who opened his first shop in Midway, Georgia. Unlike most service station and convenience store combos, Parker’s Kitchen provides much more: a full fast-casual restaurant that offers hearty Southern-style breakfasts such as fish and grits and biscuits and gravy. It’s also known for its hand-breaded chicken tenders, fried in 100% soy oil until golden, and served as a meal, snack, or in a sandwich.

In some locations, customers can play darts, shoot pool, or listen to their favorite songs on the jukebox.

The company currently has about 100 locations throughout Georgia and South Carolina, but has committed to expanding throughout northern Florida and Georgia with a total of 100 new sites in the new few years.

Parker’s Kitchen is also known for giving back to the communities it does business with. It has raised more than $30 million to support education, provide healthcare, fight hunger, and celebrate local heroes through its community fund.
