Documents Indicate Dakar NOLA Owners Have Purchased the Former Mat & Naddie’s

Senegal NOLA will be a cozy restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating

The owners behind the highly successful Dakar NOLA have filed public documents with the City of New Orleans that indicate an interest in developing the former Mat & Naddie’s at 937 Leonidas St. The permit documents lay out plans for a concept called Senegal NOLA, but ownership has indicated that a restaurant is only in the conceptual phase, and not a certainty at this moment. According to a Louisiana state business filing, Dakar NOLA owners Sergine Mbaye and Aufa Richardson are the folks behind Senegal NOLA LLC. Richardson is also listed on the publicly available plans filed with the city. As for Dakar NOLA, it was recently named to the inaugural North America’s 50 Best Restaurants list. Rated at No.6, Dakar NOLA was called the best restaurant in the USA South.
