Palmetto Superfoods, a California-based plant-focused açaí and smoothie bowl brand, is getting ready to open a new location at Brea Mall in Brea at 1065 Brea Mall.

The upcoming shop is expected to open later in 2026, according to a recent press release from the mall. While an exact opening date has not yet been announced, the concept will join a lineup of new retail and dining additions arriving as part of Brea Mall’s ongoing redevelopment. Palmetto Superfoods focuses on customizable Brazilian açaí bowls and smoothies made with plant-based ingredients. Customers can expect build-your-own bowls, fruit-forward smoothies, and other nutrient-dense options designed for quick meals and snacks.

The expansion comes as the brand continues to grow across California. Owner Charles Lee tells What Now that Palmetto Superfoods also opened a new location today in San Juan Capistrano at 31856 Paseo Adelanto, Suite 101, within the River Street Marketplace development. That store marks the company’s entry into the San Juan Capistrano market and reflects its continued push into Southern California communities.

Palmetto Superfoods was founded in 2019 in San Francisco’s Inner Richmond neighborhood with a focus on authentic Brazilian açaí made without added sugars or preservatives. Since launching, the company has expanded to multiple locations throughout Northern and Southern California. Existing stores operate in cities including San Francisco, Palo Alto, Burlingame, San Jose, Walnut Creek, Livermore, Corte Madera, Fremont, Sacramento, and Beverly Hills.

The menu centers on customizable açaí bowls made with organic açaí bases and topped with ingredients such as granola, fresh fruit, nut butters, and other superfoods. In addition to bowls, the concept offers smoothies and other plant-based options designed for breakfast, snacks, or light meals. The brand has built a following for its simple menu and focus on whole, plant-based ingredients.

Palmetto Superfoods will join several other tenants planned for Brea Mall in 2026, including dining concepts such as Pacific Catch, North Italia, Din Tai Fung, and Kalbi Social Club, along with retailers and entertainment additions. The mall’s redevelopment also includes new residential units and updated public spaces, bringing a mix of shopping, dining, and lifestyle offerings to the property. This will be an excellent landing space for Palmetto Superfoods as the property continues welcoming new tenants throughout the year.
