Vicky Bakery, the beloved Cuban bakery and restaurant, is opening its second Orlando shop.
The Miami-based bakery announced on its website that it will open a shop at 334 North Alafaya Trail. According to franchisee/partner, Dione Brady, the bakery should be open some time in December 2025, in time for holiday shoppers to fuel their festivities with cafecito and pastelitos.
Vicky Bakery is a true family affair and immigrant success story. Antonio and Gelasia Cao immigrated to Miami from Cuba in search of a better life. Antonio worked in one of Cuba’s most prominent bakeries, and wanted to bring those breads and pastries to his new home. In 1972, he opened the first Vicky Bakery in Hialeah, a city just outside of the City of Miami.
The Caos opened their second bakery a dozen years later, and a third in the 1990s. Today, there are more than 30 Vicky Bakery locations, and the numbers continue to grow throughout Florida.
Vicky Bakery offers Cuban classics such as croquetas, Cuban sandwiches, pastelitos, empanadas, and cakes. It also caters to vegan fans by baking a special plant-based Cuban bread, substituting lard for vegetable oil. In addition, Vicky offers lunch specials, coffees, and batidos (fruit shakes). The restaurant also specializes in catering and party platters.
