Harland Brewing Company, a San Diego–based craft brewery, is planning to open a taproom at the Mission Bay Golf Course and Practice Center at 2702 N Mission Bay Dr.
The new space is already built out and includes a ventless hood system, a walk-in cooler, counter infrastructure, ADA-compliant restrooms, and a finished interior, as previously reported by SanDiegoVille last year. While the news was not confirmed by What Now at the time, a recent liquor license application shows the project is moving forward. Additionally, a company representative tells What Now that this project will not be a full-service restaurant. The concept will feature a patio facing the golf course and surface parking accessible from North Mission Bay Drive.
Founded in 2018, Harland Brewing Company has expanded steadily across San Diego County. The Mission Bay location will add another prominent setting to its growing portfolio, aligning the brand with one of the city’s busiest recreational areas.
While the company closed its One Paseo tasting room last year, Harland continues to operate a brewpub in South Park, its Bay Park tasting room, which opened in 2021, and The Ocotillo at Harland in Scripps Ranch. The company also recently opened its first full-service restaurant in 4S Ranch, signaling a shift beyond its original tasting room model.
At 4S Ranch, the menu expanded to include shareable appetizers, salads, bowls, and entrées such as braised short rib and half-roasted chicken, alongside handheld items available at other locations. Beverage offerings include Harland beers on tap, cocktail-inspired seltzers, cider, and wine.
